Huxley Associates raises more than $14,000 for charity (Jul '08)
Huxley Associates’ employees from offices all over the world helped to raise more than $14,000 for the Parkinson’s Disease Society.
Some $7,300 of this money was raised through employee donations pledged following our latest international company ‘dress-down day’ in June. These generous contributions were then matched by the company and topped up by ‘gift aid’ (from UK taxpayers).
We decided to support the fantastic work of the Parkinson’s Society on the request of one of our employees, whose mother has the disease. The society funds research into the causes of Parkinson's, improving medical care and surgical treatments, better therapies and works toward finding a cure.
Andy Nimmo, Huxley’s fundraising co-ordinator, said: “We were delighted to be able to support such a fantastic charity. Once again we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our employees.”
Andy explained that during the last company dress down in March we raised more than $10,200 for the Juvenile Diabetes Fund.
Among the many charitable initiatives that Huxley Associates is involved in, the four charity dress down days that we organise every year for organisations nominated by our employees always prove to be particularly successful.
