PROJECT MANAGER / BUSINESS ANALYST

My client, a leading global investment bank, is looking for an experienced senior business analyst / project manager to support the firm’s Finance Technology team. This is a permanent position based in Jersey City and will pay a base salary between 135-160k, depending on the candidate. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a highly visible role, serving as a business facing BA/PM on a range of financial control, product control and accounting technology initiatives. As the lead Business Analyst, you will be tasked with conducting detailed data, process and systems analysis in support of formulating functional requirements for a number of strategic initiatives. In addition to creating detailed business requirements and functional specification documents, you will proactively communicate with project stakeholders on project status, risk and issues. You will liaise with development teams to ensure business requirements are well understood. You will also be expected to facilitate QA and UAT testing.

To succeed in this position, you must have extensive experience working across finance/ accounting systems for a major financial services firm with a very solid understanding of finance/accounting concepts. You should have sound product knowledge across either equities or fixed income, and excellent knowledge of front to back flows and the full trade lifecycle. You should have experience working with general ledger systems and the ability to clearly articulate your understanding of PnL. Project management experience and relevant PM qualifications are an additional plus. You must have the capacity to work across a range of groups, interface with Sr. Level management and take accountability for the projects you are supporting.
